Mona Johnston Zellers
Mona is a tireless and passionate designer with a deep interest in digital fabrication and the potential it holds for the profession. She creates works of art and architecture both large and small that explore the dialogue between ideas and the digital tools that bring them to reality. She works on a wide range of project types with a special emphasis on educational buildings.
Mona is deeply involved in the Seattle design community, having co-chaired the Seattle AIA Honor Awards and served on the Seattle AIA Board of Directors and the Design in Public Board of Directors. She is also a frequent guest juror at the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments. Her work has won several awards including two AIA Seattle Honor Awards, and in 2017 she received the National AIA Associates Award. But her favorite recognition is an exuberant hug and kiss from her preschooler, Kasper, at the end of the day.
