JA Announces New Hires

SEATTLE – Johnston Architects has hired Lina Baker as an Associate and Interior Designer, Sierra Borsari and Jake Woll as Project Architects, and Jay Johnson as an Architect and Project Manager.  

 

Lina Baker, NCIDQ holds 15 years of experience in interior design with an emphasis on creative workplace, multi-family, mixed-use and senior housing projects. A graduate of Colorado State University with a BS in Interior Design, Lina’s past projects include tenant improvements for Coffman Engineers, Verathon, and Microsoft; as well as interior design for Leeward, a mixed-use housing project in South Lake Union, and Murano Senior Living, a high-rise in First Hill. Joining JA as an Associate, Lina is currently focusing on tenant improvements for civic clients, including renovations to the Edmonds Library.

sierra borsari, aia

Sierra Borsari, AIA earned her BS in Architecture from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as well as Masters Degrees in Architecture & Civil Engineering Construction Management from Washington University in Saint Louis. Sierra brings experience in multi-family developments, single-family houses, and hospitality projects, with a focus on sustainability. Her past projects include mid- and high-rise projects in Seattle’s Downtown, Belltown and South Lake Union neighborhoods. A Registered Architect, Sierra is currently working as Construction Administration Project Architect for the new Redmond Senior & Community Center in Redmond, WA, a 56,000 SF facility being designed in collaboration with Opsis Architecture of Portland, OR.

Jake Woll, AIA joined JA in as a student intern in 2021 before graduating with his Masters in Architecture from the University of Washington this year. Jake worked for nearly five years in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area on a diverse mix of project types after earning his BS in Architecture from the University of Minnesota. A recently licensed Architect, at JA Jake is currently designing several single-family houses and supporting efforts on the Redmond Senior & Community Center. He is also applying his experience in visualization technology to streamline the firm’s rendering process and give them a cohesive aesthetic across all project types.


jay johnson, aia, ncarb

Jay Johnson, AIA, NCARB earned his Masters in Architecture from the University of Washington and has spent 18 years designing civic and community projects throughout the Puget Sound region, including the education, mass transit, and performing arts sectors. Some of his notable past projects include Rose Hill Middle School in Redmond, WA as well as multiple projects for the Sound Transit Link Light Rail extensions, including the Northgate, Rainier, Lynnwood City Center and University District Stations. Jay is serving as the Project Manager for JA’s Seattle Center On-Call Contract, which includes improvements to the Seattle Repertory Theater, Fisher Pavilion, Vera Project and Mercer Parking Garage buildings on the Seattle Center campus.
