JA's Winthrop Library Featured in Buildings for Books
/The Winthrop Library, designed by Johnston Architects in collaboration with Prentiss Balance Wickline Architects, is featured in Buildings for Books, a new collection of library buildings from around the globe, published by Braun Publishing.
"Inspired by the agrarian buildings in the region, [the Winthrop Library] includes broad overhangs and open roof trusses, and the massing suits the community's aesthetic."
The building includes spaces for lectures, meetings, and a makerspace provides 3D printers and sewing machines. Computers, printers, and free internet are available. The library is the result of public/private partnerships.
